listen… if you dare

Women in many ways make horror. Horror relies on our screams, our virginity, our blood, our bodies, our sanity, our insanity. But not often enough are these core horror tropes discussed by women. That’s why we decided to give voice to these themes and feminist critiques, and just have a space where we could genuinely geek out about horror. Inspired by the seminal feminist film text of the same name by Barbara Creed, this podcast dissects the eerie intersections of gender in horror. ♡In a dingy classroom buried in the dark basement of SOAS University of London, The Monstrous Feminine Podcast was birthed (monstrously). What started as an MA assignment gradually blossomed into so much more: a radical film club, a merging of minds, a therapy session, a gossip exchange, and above all, a friendship♡

in collaboration with Gross Encounters: One-Night Fright Festival

In November 2023, we were invited by HEAD Genève (Geneva University of Art and Design) to participate in the Gross Encounters: One-Night Fright Festival, an exploration of themes pertaining to The Monstrous-Feminine text. We produced a zine, visual essays and presented a talk on the evening.

Please contact us below for collaboration opportunities. A media kit is available upon request.
